Missoni Home Retrospective 2006-2009

Let's get a glimpse of 4 years!

Collection 2006

Collection 2007

The new 2007 Missoni Home collection is once again leading design trends. Its vibrant black-and-white palette returns in 2007, but this time complemented by a bold new floral element: the rose, together with compositions of violets. Repeated patterns coexist and support one another: roses and cubes, violets and chevrons, flecks of colour and animal motifs. (dexigner.com)

Collection 2008

The multicolored dream of the 2008 collection captures an air of botanic parks, forests, imaginary gardens. An intriguing game of blending and altering elements and emotions, mixing indoor with outdoor atmospheres, combining sunny colors with shadowy tones.
In this playful, imaginary habitat, the complex of textures, motifs, decors and harmonies of filtered colors – the product of a lighthearted alchemy – order themselves into compositions that are balanced and precise, never random.

A love of natural harmony lies behind the choices of Rosita, who in them subconsciously declares her eco-friendly convictions by surrounding herself with her favorite elements – all pieces in a game that captures the sensations and atmospheres of outdoors and brings them into the home. The floral symbol this year is a very glamorous, brilliantly colored tulip amid crowds of flying butterflies, splashes of polka-dots, stripes and, here and there, a few wild mushrooms – Rosita’s secret passion.

Today, the home is a harmony of forms, tones and enjoyment. It’s still a refuge but also a place to create positive messages and express a warm welcome. (missonirugs.wordpress.com)

Collection 2009

This year's collection is all about a versatile look for both an indoor and outdoor setting. Missoni themselves talk of cacti's sculptural forms, their silhouettes and the use of rare flower images. Stencil effects, tempera paintings and Indian-ink drawings reproduce elements of the plant world; details interweave and mould into the dynamic geometry of stripes and checks, the essence of the Missoni aesthetic.

‘Avoid big changes but keep the Home alive and desirable, adding small touches, for example cushions, lamps, plants and flowers, a new rug, a new throw, an off size vase, small chairs etc.’ Rosita Missoni
