Missoni Home Retrospective 2013 - 2014

In the 50’s Rosita and Ottavia Missoni created a fashion house that became world famous in the 1970s. They expanded their brilliant fresh and known-for-zig-zags line in to men’s wear, perfume, and then home furnishings.
Rosita’s crystal clear vision for bolder than life colorful graphics, her understanding of the need for flexible, multi-purpose pieces, and a welcoming sense of Italian style permeate the array of fabrics, towels, bedding, rugs, cushions, and even lighting.

Collection 2013

The 2013 collection is bursting with blooms embroidered on duchess silk and printed on linen.

Classic patterns have been exploded to life size versions of scallops and Greek keys and their original famous chevron.

And while patterns evolve along with color palettes, you can successfully blend all of your favorites from the past and the present. The story of Missoni Home is woven in to the vibrant fabric of their timeless designs.

Collection 2014

This collection represents a modern vision of furnishings, with cool tones, smooth lines and linear graphics offering a counterbalance to the vibrant eccentricity at the heart of the designs.

Florals form one of the main themes of this year’s range; delicate poppies in watercolour hues are spread on linen canvas, perfect for contrasting against the satin or embroidered versions also present. Freesias brighten the scene and are also outlined in monochrome for outdoor fabrics, and leave their mark in vintage velvets too.

The iconic stripes, chevrons and zigzags are ever present, but this year we see adaptations with multicoloured palettes and different textural canvases, from PVC, embroidered on tulle, or embossed on wool.
Using artistic fabrics the collection combines amazing silk jacquards, seamless and quilted fabrics, soft velvets, sheer tulles and distressed macramés. Digital prints, beautiful embroidery and (with a nod to the catwalk collections) even handmade knitwear elements are used to create a menagerie of ideas for every interior. With the addition of high performance fabrics too, every space is covered from the poolside & balcony to the boat deck.
Full of soft cushions, poufs, rugs, and eye-catching fabric panels the 2014 collection also includes matching elements of sofas, chairs, lamps and low tables.

New for this year are the stunning sofas upholstered in watercolours & trompe l’oeil, and leather sofas in classic shades. Chunky-knit rugs feature too, and there are even more unique items to be found including balloon lamps wound in wool yarn and outdoor director’s chairs.

A bolder and more expansive collection than previous years, Missoni Home 2014 provides a couture collection of designs to suit every living space.
